In October 2016, a mica stakeholders' meeting was held in the Netherlands, which was also attended by members of the National Resource Management Group (NRMG). In order to eliminate child labor, they advocated for a completely new mica supply chain. Those present at the meeting unanimously
unanimously agreed that only cooperation can succeed, which is how the Mica Initiative was formed in the first place. The first kick-off meeting was held in Paris on January 31st, during which a series of discussions were held on the formation of the organization. Kuncai Technologies
Kuncai Technology has been actively involved and has become a member of the organization. On November 14th of this year, the organization was officially launched in Delhi, India with an ambitious plan with the following main objectives:
- Enforcement of fair, responsible and sustainable codes of good practice to enhance the traceability of the Indian mica supply chain
- Promote lasting positive change in local communities through the implementation of inclusive and comprehensive holistic empowerment plans
- Create a legally livable environment for local communities by working closely with the Government of India
